Early production in '34 finished in a high quality wool almost a doeskin finish, cap has only moderate wear both inside and out, early SS nickle 63 button to front, the eagle to the side flap is a machine woven silver on red SA eagle which has been hand applied, no sign of any other previous insignia ever having been applied, inside is in black cotton twill the original wearer has added a stitch to pinch the top of the hat, the earliest SS Vom Reichsfuhrer SS RZM tag is factory applied to the inside also a larger cotton tag with size 54 and other manufacturer markings in an ink box also there are two faded ink stamping s with similar markings clearly a product on the cusp of RZM standardisation,
