WSS OFFICER M43 STYLE FIELD CAP

From one of the oldest and most respected collections in the USA
Completely field made of a waterproof Khaki material from what I do not know, there is an odd eyelet/vent machine sewn under the front flap which has no current use and must of been in the materiel before being tailored as a cap! Two wooden buttons are sewn to the front of the closure flaps with no button holes and are decorative only, the cap is lined in an artificial silk HBT, and is exactly as found in SSBW tunics as lining material, the liner shows moderate even use and soiling, officer collar piping has been hand applied to pipe the cap crown, all insignia is hand applied and comprises of a machine embroidered Edelweiss to the side flap,a standard em SS BeVo eagle to the cap front with a beautiful officer TK beneath, size I would guess at circa 56.
