WSS BELT AND BUCKLE GREEN STEEL 1943 ASSMANN

Combat piece for sure! Interesting buckle not just that its an original green painted piece, also that it has been factory assembled incorrectly, the prongs have been fitted the wrong way around, this has caused the prongs to dig heavily to the leather, damage to the leather is quite clear which is also evidence that the two pieces, belt and buckle were worn together period and are not a latter marriage.
Buckle shows moderate wear and most the green paint is gone to the front around 10% remains in the recesses, to the reverse around 75% green paint remains, RZM 155/43 SS marked below the prongs,
leather belt has been resized by moving the adjustment tongue to fit a smaller waist.
